Company History
Full Force was established in 1995 by Linton Jenkins. Linton began his career in boat building with apprenticeships at Rowsell and Morrison and John Turner Dinghies before starting his own business at West Barn, near Tiverton, Devon. Initially he specialized in wooden craft and the quality of his work became highly regarded to the point where one of his boats, built while he was still an apprentice, was exhibited by the Design Council (UK). Linton Jenkins is widely regarded as a master of wooden boat building and repair.
Linton moved the business to a building right opposite the Portland National Sailing Academy, in 2002. The workshop has been fitted out to accommodate boats from an 18 foot Skiff to an Optimist. It has dedicated equipment to be able to handle the latest advanced laminated techniques including pre-preg resin infusion. The workshop moved again in 2009 and is currently located in Chiswell while the Osprey Quay site is developed for the Olympics in 2012.
Linton has been always been keen to work at the cutting edge of dinghy boat technology, and is not interested in large scale boat production preferring to concentrate on development classes, such as the Merlin Rocket and foiling classes such as the new RS600FF, along with bespoke boat-building for the Olympic athletes, and other custom boat-building work.
